Tuesday the 6th of December – Good preparations are half the workload… : )

We’re sitting again at the garage workplace. Since the window sweeper broke down we’re trying to get it fixed. So today its D-day, it gets replaced. However another tiny setback occurred; the tires. They told us that our tires are dangerous and that we will be needing winter-tires. Which means, more delay, because they would need to order them. Another option is ordering them in Prague now, so then can directly place them underneath when we arrive. Hopefully the last will be possible but it sees that we will find some snow on our way.

Tonight we’re finally meeting some LGBTI’s and gender benders as they call themselves. We’re looking forward to interviewing them and getting more insights on the the LGBTI life in Berlin. It is clear that its difficult to find the right people in Berlin. This is the case in finding couches to crash as for people to interview. It seems that Berlin gets some many tourist each year that its difficult to compete with them.

A very positive thing is the fact that Casandra is joining me on my trip. She will be joining me on the 15th of December. She already booked her flight to Vienna where I will pick her up! So looking forward to it!

So due to time issues the road is changed a bit, so no more Istanbul, Sofia and Thessaloniki. The idea is to move to Prague tomorrow and stay their till Friday/Saturday. Michelle will leave me then and I will continue my journey to Poland.

Berlin – Prague – Krakow – Auschwitz – Bratislava – Vienna – Budapest – Sarajevo – Split – Zagreb – North Italy – Switzerland/Germany – Home

Planning a trip of a lifetime – Doing a Eurotrip by car with the direction EAST!

Its almost D-day, on Saturday the 3th the Eurotrip will start. This weekend Casandra helped me with installing WordPress and making some changes to the Theme. We have spent some hours on my couch at home with our survival kit: liquorice, Koreaan food and 7-up. Thank you for that Casandra!

I’ve asked my friend , photographer Michelle D to join me on my trip. Michelle will travel with me the first few weeks of my journey. As I will have a focus on the videos and interviewing, Michelle D will take the pictures. We will be looking for a way to combine our specialties and look for ways to create interesting content along the way. The portraits will be a combination of video, pictures and text. Everything in order to tell the story; What is it like to be gay in…?

But before we can leave there is still a lot of preparation that needs to take place.

Today I will be focussing on finishing up the website.
Continue my list of potential interview candidates, and hostesses abroad.
Continue to have a look at funding for my project.

Tomorrow; will be my day of technique; see which lenses, batteries etc. I need to buy.
Look at the car and power-supplies options in the car.
Create promotion material.

Thursday; is my network day, I will start promotion the website and tell everybody about my project.
Make a route plan for the first few days. Arrange everything for those days.

Friday; pack my bags, say goodbye to everybody.
